Dore Abbey
A rare surviving Cistercian church that is still in use today. Founded by Cistercian monks in 1147 and dissolved by Henry VIII in 1537. The derelict eastern parts of the monastic church were restored by Viscount Scudamore around 1634, to serve his local parish. Services are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, plus regular concerts and organ recitals - see website for details.

Berrington Hall
A neo-classical country mansion built between 1778 and 1781 by Henry Holland. Contains several restored period rooms. The surrounding park and gardens were landscaped by Capability Brown in 1780. Currently run by the National Trust.

Brockhampton Estate
Medieval moated manor house set in a 1700 acre estate of ancient woods and parkland. Currently run by the National Trust.

Croft Castle
Located on the Welsh border, owned by the Croft family for nearly 1000 years. Set in a 1,500-acre estate of woodlands, parkland and farmland. Its towers and walls date from the 14th century, the interior is mainly 18th century. Currently run by the National Trust.

Eastnor Castle
A magnificent restored Georgian gothic style castle surrounded by a beautifully landscaped deer park, with a lake and arboretum. The castle contains many fine tapestries, armour and works of art. There are plenty of things to do for the whole family, including an adventure playground, nature trails and walks.

Goodrich Castle
A
magnificent, 11th century, red sandstone Welsh border
castle, parts of which were built in the 12th and 13th
centuries.

Ralph Court Gardens

garden complete with a Piazza and church.
