Coach and Train Services from Birmingham AirportA free shuttle train connects the airport with Birmingham International station, where trains run every 10-15 minutes to Birmingham New Street station in the city centre (a 15 minute journey). Intercity trains run from New Street to London Euston every half hour, which takes about 90 minutes. New Street is also a main-line station that provides rail links across the whole of the UK. There are a number of regular local bus services to the Airport from Birmingham city and Coventry, run by Network West Midlands. National Express and Megabus also operate long distance coach services from directly outside the Airport terminal to London, and other main towns and cities across Britain. Motorway Links from/to Birmingham Airport24-hour taxi services operate from outside the main terminal building. A good selection of car hire companies (Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, National & Alamo Car Rental) have service desks near the main airport entrance. Birmingham Airport is located on the A45, and just a few minutes from the M42 motorway (J6). The A45 is the main highway linking Birmingham City Centre with Coventry, although mostly dual carriageway, it can easily become congested during rush hour. Therefore, the M42 motorway is the quickest way out of the airport and onto the road network. The M42 joins with the M6 Motorway, just a few miles to the North. Which runs from the northwest of England (Carlisle, Preston, Manchester) down to London via the M1. The southern route of the M42 links with the M40 to London, and a little further south, joins with the M5 near Worcester. The M5 is the main motorway link from Birmingham to Somerset and Devon. The M5 also provides links into mid Wales via the M50 and south Wales via the M4, near Bristol. Airport Car ParkingA good selection of car parking facilities are provided, including disabled, long, medium and short stay car parks. Although a courtesy bus is provided, most parking is located within walking distance of the main terminal building. Birmingham Aircraft Viewing AreaBirmingham has a public aircraft viewing area, where you can watch flights taking off and landing. Located at the edge of Long Stay Car Park 1 near to the main terminal building. |
