Pathway at Castle Acre

Peddars Way - Castle Acre © TAB

Peddars Way is a prehistoric footpath that runs for approx 50 miles from Knettishall Heath to 'Holme next the Sea', on the Norfolk coast. The route passes through many ancient towns and villages including historic Castle Acre, with its ruined castle and priory. It was adopted by the Romans, during the 1st century, as a supply route to the Wash area. Large sections of the path can be walked along, through the breathtaking Norfolk countryside.

The path joins up with the 'Norfolk Coast Path' at Holme, which runs west along the Norfolk coastline to Cromer, covering a combined distance of 94 miles (151 km).
